We are still overflowing with gratitude for all that God did during our recent faith-based therapy event. It was a powerful day filled with connection, revelation, and emotional healing—and we pray that everyone who attended left feeling refreshed, equipped, and empowered.
If you couldn’t be there (or just want a recap), we wanted to share a few of the most impactful takeaways from our time together. These reflections came straight from the heart, and we hope they bless you as much as they blessed us.
1. Divine Order: Understanding Spirit, Body & Soul
Shared by Marian
Having Dr. Margaret Nagib, PsyD with us was truly a gift. Her teaching on divine order in Christian counseling—how God designed us with spirit, body, and soul—offered such eye-opening insight.
What really stood out was how our family of origin wounds often distort or block our connection to God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. This reframing helped many of us see how inner healing is both spiritual and therapeutic.
This new perspective is already shaping how I support clients in spirit-led therapy sessions. The clarity and tools we received are ones I’ll be integrating into my work as a Christian therapist moving forward.
2. Healing Through Connection
Shared by Leslie
Hosting Dr. Margaret and hearing her speak on Ministering to the Spirit, Restoring the Soul was such a powerful experience. The way she connected the Holy Trinity to our earthly relationships—parents, siblings, friends—offered deep emotional insight.
It helped me realize how often we unknowingly project old relational wounds onto our relationship with God. But more importantly, it gave us practical tools for inner healing and breaking spiritual lies.
This event solidified a decision in me: to lead from the Spirit in both life and practice. That shift—toward Spirit-led, trauma-informed therapy—is one of the most sacred gifts I’ve received.
3. Saved, Healed, and Delivered
Shared by Angie
One of my greatest takeaways was the reminder of the power of prayer in healing emotional wounds.
Sometimes, unresolved pain from our past—especially from our families—gets unknowingly transferred onto how we relate to God. But the Holy Spirit is ready and willing to meet us in those places. With love. With healing. With freedom.
This workshop reaffirmed the Sozo model of healing: that in Christ, we are saved, healed, and delivered. I’m more committed than ever to praying with and for our clients, trusting that God desires full freedom for each of them.
We couldn’t end this post without honoring the people who made this Christian mental health event possible:
- Dr. Margaret Nagib, PsyD – for her wisdom, presence, and Spirit-led teaching
- Crystal and the Amen Institute – for nourishing us with breakfast
- Lucy, Emy, and the Coral Gables Counseling Team – for creating such a beautiful, welcoming space
- And to every attendee – your presence and openness meant more than you know
We’re truly blessed to be part of a community that believes in faith-based mental health, emotional wholeness, and inner transformation. Thank you for walking with us as we grow, heal, and step deeper into the freedom God designed us for.
